Satellite Affordable Housing Associates (SAHA) provides quality affordable homes and services that empower people and strengthen neighborhoods. Satellite Affordable Housing Associates is committed to providing quality, service-enriched, affordable housing to East Bay residents. SAHA offers volunteer opportunities that range from leading arts and crafts classes, bingo games, English-as-a-Second-Language classes, group exercise classes, and more.

The Friends of the Gardens at Lake Merritt is a volunteer group that oversees the strategic development of a visionary, broad-scale garden plan and fosters hands-in-the-dirt community involvement. Volunteering activities include pruning, weeding, planting, raking of paths, etc.

The Alameda Food Bank is a food program that is run by unpaid volunteers, led by a Director and Program Coordinator. Volunteering at the Food Bank provides an opportunity to assist people in our community with some of their most fundamental needs. This program offers different volunteer positions—ranging from picking up food from grocery stores to packing the foods for distribution—which are posted on their website.

With the help of community volunteers, Alameda Meals on Wheels has been delivering hot, nourishing meals to Alameda residents seven days a week. The program provides low to no-cost solutions that address the issues of hunger, loneliness, lack of transportation and increased risk of falls. Volunteers provide the delivery system for the meals that are prepared daily by the kitchen staff at Bayview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. These volunteers often provide the only personal contact and conversation our homebound recipients have on a daily basis.

Ashby Village is an organization that serves residents of Berkeley, Albany, Kensington, El Cerrito, and parts of Oakland. The program offers one-stop shopping and assistance for daily needs for the program’s members. City of Fremont - Volunteering Opportunities for Teens
The City of Fremont Recreation Services Division offers several ways for teens to volunteer and earn community service hours. These include helping with recreational programs for children, families, pre-teens and teens such as: 6th grade dances, Trick or Treat on Safety Street, Kids and Kite Festival, Leprechaun Land, etc.

City of Fremont - Environmental Creek Cleanup
The Environmental Services Division administers more than thirty garbage, recycling and storm water programs for Fremont residents and businesses. Volunteers participate in creek or street cleanup events.

East Bay Regional Park District
The East Bay Regional Park District offers a variety of volunteering opportunities for individuals, families and friends, or school or civic groups through their programs.
